The Tommorow War

X - Blade

February 13, 2009 - The hack and slash genre that so many of us grew up with is essentially dead; giving way to more mainstream play styles for the "everyday gamer." X-Blades tosses that philosophy to the wind and presents players with a scantily clad -- the chick is wearing tinsel for underwear and a bikini top instead of armor -- heroine dead set on ridding the world of evil dark powers. Yes, it's all as simple as it sounds, but underneath its moderately unattractive shell is gameplay that some might be able to enjoy.

X-Blades is all about combat, really. The story that's in place is presented in cel-shaded cutscenes and makes sense once you get rolling, but at the onset it feels like you're thrown into a story at its midway point. That's evidenced even further by the section of the manual titled, "Huh? How did this adventure begin?" No joke, it's there.

The nuts and bolts of X-Blades are that the story surrounds a treasure hunter named Ayumi and her trusty gun-blades (swords that are also pistols) as she seeks to find ancient all-powerful artifacts that are currently hidden away in a long-forgotten temple. Of course standing in her way are forces with the same goal in mind. Time for Ayumi to hack and, yes, slash her way through a myriad of arena battles.

Install:
- Download and extract using WinRAR.
- Use NERO to burn the ISO image called "faXcooL.Windows.7.Ultimate.ENG.x86-x64.ACTiVATED"
- Burning speed should not be faster than 4x. Otherwise, it might not work.
- Restart your computer.
- Make sure you've seleceted your DVD-ROM/RW drive as a first boot device

* Enter the BIOS pressing the DEL button, set the option, insert your Windows 7 installation and restart computer.
- The black screen will appear (image 01).
- Press any key to boot from CD or DVD.... (by pressing the key you're entering the setup)
- Select your language, time and currency and keyboard input (optionaly)
- Click install now
- Choose your edition (x86 is 32-bit, x64 is 64-bit) depending of CPU type you have.

*Choose x64 if you have 64-bit processor.
- Click "I accept".
- Click "Custom (advanced).
- Choose your partition/hdd drive where Win7 should be installed and click format.

*You might get some error if you have two or more hard disks with different connectors (ATA and SATA).
If you get an error, turn off one of your hard disks and repeat the whole proces.
- After formatting, setup will continue automaticly and it will finish after 15-30 min.
- Next step would be username (Image 17).
- Type your password (if you want).
- When you get the screen for CD-KEY just ignore it leaving blank.

*Uncheck the box for automaticly activation and click next.
- Choose the third option for next step.
- Select your time zone.
- Select your current location (Home is recommended).
- The black CMD windows will appear. Wait a few seconds until computers restares once again.
- And that would be all about installation. You're in Windows now.

Activation:
It's not required, because it's OEM. Windows will be premanently activated.
However, it's well known that there is some problems with DELL and HP machines.

Important notes:

1- Remember When Windows is finalizing Its Installation There Will Be A Black Screen Appear (cmd) Prompt It will Stay Blinking for about 2 to 10 mins Depending on the system you are using Then It Will say ***-***-***-***-**** Key Installed Successfully Then It Will restart Automatically. Then U can go to My computer`s Properties U Will See Windows Is Activated.

2- DELL and HP machines, Use an Activator or the crack supplied if anything. 80% the activators will work meanwhile the other 20% depends on how old your Laptop/Computer, If you did an Upgrade you'll have to use an Activator regardless because this Version was made for a fresh installation.

3- If you do not want to be forced to use an activator I'd do a Custom install but you don't really have to format your driver due to the fact that Windows 7 will just overwrite your current windows and put the old windows in a folder called "Windows.old" where your previous windows installion files are kept. And it's optional if you choose to deleted the olf folder because the drivers are "surpisingly" there after installation. Make sure you are connected to the internet before and after the installion (meaning that when your ready to set up your connection.Go for the fresh Installation if you dont really have important programs you can easily re-install at a later time.

4-Burn the ISO image at the lowest speed possible and Also your burning app. must verify the burn (the ISO)......

October 9, 2001 - It should be said by way of explanation that the game title as it appears above is merely a truncated version of the complete title, Command & Conquer Yuri's Revenge, a Red Alert 2 expansion pack. We thought that that was maybe a little excessive so we toned it down a bit. Still, so as not to confuse grandparents and spouses who are looking to buy the game as a gift, we wanted to go ahead and say that the actual name of the game is much longer than we're pretending.


But even with what Mark Twain would call a sobriquetfluous title, Yuri's Revenge is pure gold (and the largest expansion in Westwood's history). And while it certainly doesn't live up to the scale of expansions set by the superlative The Conquerors expansion for Age of Kings, there's more than enough originality lumped in with the obligatory 16 extra hours of gameplay to lure even the most apathetic gamers back for more.

Tacked onto the end of the previous game, Yuri's Revenge is about the revenge that some guy has, some guy named Yuri. Yuri was the former minister of mind control for the Soviets. After the Allies capture Moscow, Yuri goes into hiding and begins to formulate his own plans to once again venge the parties responsible for his spiritual depantsing. He assembles an army of psychic warriors and some impressive technology to bring about the destruction of both the Allies and the Soviets.

It's up to you to stop him. While the specifics still seem a little confusing (and maybe not altogether logical, even by Red Alert standards), it's definitely keeping in the style of the franchise. To begin with you'll need to grab a time machine and head back into the past and take Yuri out. With seven missions each for the Soviet and Allied campaign, there's about 16 hours of gameplay here. Missions are a nice range. Defending a peace summit at Parliament, fighting house to house in Sydney, and assaulting enemy positions at the base of the Great Pyramid are just three examples.

Tactically the game has changed quite a bit. You're no longer presiding over battles between the Soviets and Allies. Now you're fighting against Yuri's minions. With an impressive array of mind-control techniques at his disposal, Yuri can make short work of your forces. The solution seems to be in long-range weapons and garrisoned structures. This makes snipers and prism tanks much more important than they've been in the past. Yuri's reliance on gatling weapons (which deal greater damage the longer they operate) also necessitates the use of long-range weapons.

But the game does still rely excellent unit balancing. There's a much greater sense here of circular unit supremacy. One unit beats another, beats another, and beats another, which beats the first one. And given that there's a whole new side here, that's no small accomplishment. I was a little saddened that nearly all of the additions came on the side of land-based units. The navies of each side and the air forces could each us a little broadening but since there's a land-based focus throughout the game (except for a single Soviet mission), that's not surprising

The game takes place as a series of flashbacks 47 sees as he lies dying.
